Protected Lands & Trails
Western Foothills Land Trust protects farmlands, wetlands, forestlands, unique natural resources and open space in the greater Oxford Hills area of Western Maine. The Trust also holds conservation easements on privately owned lands and owns working forest lands and preserves in the region.
To date our lands, contain over 32 miles of recreational trails, 7 of which are groomed for Nordic skiing in the winter.
Programs & Events
From monthly walks to seasonal programs such as paddling and ski clinics, Western Foothills Land Trust offers opportunities for all ages and abilities. We also host annual community events such as the Norway Snowshoe Festival in February and the Norway Triathlon in July on beautiful Lake Penneseewassee.
Your donation directly supports the work Western Foothills Land Trust provides for the western Maine community. To make a gift visit our donate page or contact the office. Volunteering for the Trust is also a great way to become involved with other conservation minded folks and learn new skills. From trail maintenance to easement monitoring and serving on committees, your talents are of value.
